Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal were in attendance at the Mediterranean Business Aviation Summit held in Malta yesterday the 19th September aimed at connecting business aviation in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
The Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, Mr. Ian Borg was also present and gave the opening speech. He expressed his pride of the local Aviation sector, with the number of registered aircraft having doubled since 2012, meaning more than 290 registered aircraft, while the number of Air Operator Certificate holders has increased from 18 to 35 over the same period. The Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to continue facilitating the day-to-day operations of aviation companies, including through the operation of the regulator as well as by providing the appropriate infrastructure.
The conference included an operators panel which discussed the latest developments in the Aviation sector together with the current trends in financing, leasing, purchasing and sales of business jets. Other sessions covered aircraft management, maintenance and operations, employment in corporate aviation and Pilots training and shortage.
