Dr Denia Ellul joined Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal as an Associate Lawyer in 2017. She attended the University of Malta, and successfully completed a Bachelor of Laws degree, followed by a Doctor of Laws degree in 2014. In fulfilment of her LL.D., Denia submitted and defended her thesis entitled: “A Single Market for Online Gambling: Current Legal Issues”.
Following her graduation from the University of Malta, Denia commenced her employment with a local law firm which helped her gain the necessary knowledge in various fields of law, including corporate law, commercial law, cross-border tax planning and financial-legal matters. During her employment, she obtained a Professional Certificate in Taxation, a course of studies conducted by the Malta Institute of Taxation, which helped her solidify her foundations in domestic and international taxation.
In 2016, Denia furthered her legal studies at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where she read a Masters degree in International Trade and Investment. She successfully submitted and defended her thesis entitled, “The Rule of Law in Post-Award Remedies: A Critical Analysis of the Annulment Procedure under ICSID”.
In view of her experience, Denia’s main practice areas include corporate and trusts law, financial services and alternative dispute resolution. At Fenech Farrugia Fiott Legal, Denia is also seconded to ARQ Group and she assists in the setting up and licencing of regulated entities.
In her spare time, Denia enjoys keeping up with current affairs, individual sports, photography, reading and travelling.
